Founded by Josiah Ryan, CompEdge was born from 15 years of watching hard-working contractors pay retainers to agencies that disappeared after the check cleared. We built CompEdge to be the opposite of that.
Our Story
Josiah Ryan did not start CompEdge because he saw a market opportunity. He started it because he was angry.
After more than a decade in the digital marketing industry, Josiah had watched hundreds of contractors get burned by agencies that promised the world and delivered nothing. Agencies that charged $3,000 monthly retainers and could not show a single closed job from their efforts. Agencies that locked contractors into 12-month contracts, knowing they would never deliver enough value to justify a renewal.
He asked himself a simple question: what would a marketing agency look like if it was built by someone who actually cared about the contractor's success?

We built a proprietary AI SEO system because we were not satisfied with the manual, once-a-month approach that most agencies take.
